You have three monopolies in American cars- Ford, Chrysler and GM. Some foreign cars are made here (very few) and many American cars are made in other countries. Acura is a luxury model from Honda.

By now the answer should be crystal clear. But the reason that Acura is separate from Honda like Lexus is from Toyota is that when Honda and Toyota were introduced in USA they were simply satisfactory cars. Therefore with witty marketing they set up subdivisions of their company focused on more quality vehicles to attack upscale markets. Obviously this has worked (you will always see a Ford as a Ford even if they produced a Benz-a-like). Note that Acura and Lexus brands do not exist in Japan as of now. All equivalents of Acuras and Lexus cars are sold as Hondas and Toyotas (the TSX is a "Honda Accord" in Japan).

The Acura is assembled exclusively in the United States in Marysville, Ohio and is also exported to Canada and Mexico.
Acura took a major step forward in its global plans with the export of the first U.S.-made Acura vehicle to China.
