There are some pretty good mid-major teams out there that could get some relatively high seeds in the tourney. You have a couple of really good Mid-Major teams in Nevada and Southern Illinois that could get as high as 3 and 4 seeds, and some strong teams like Butler , Winthrop , Xavier ,Creighton, and VCU who are really going to push any power conference team they play to the limit. Then there are the good mid major shools like Missouri state, Gonzaga, UMass, Drexel and Old Dominion who if they get in will be outside shots but still are talented enough that they can hang with the big boys. The line between mid-major and power conference seems to be getting thinner every year, and with that being said will we get another mid-major in the final four ala George Mason? Also how many mid-major schools will make the elite 8 and the sweet sixteen?

Nevada could easily be the surprise of the NCAA tournament. This year, i think there are going to be alot more mid major teams in the sweet 16 and elite 8.

I think there are definitely some high-ranked major conference teams that are pretty lousy (Ohio State and Wisconsin come to mind). I think a mid-major team could easily beat one of them. Hell, WInthrop took Wisconsin to OT, and had UNC down 8 late in the second half....

None will make the Final Four. One will make the elite 8. Two will make the sweet sixteen.
