he could make you happy?

What if this same man gets angry at you if you don't want to do just what he wants now...and pretty much puts your needs second if not last.

no one can make another person happy.... you can only choose yourself, to be happy.. in whatever circumstances. why wouldnt he say something like 'because you make ME happy" or 'because I love you and love to be with you'

it almost sounds like he is a little needy and needs to be 'needed'?

You live a life of hell that's what!
I am going through this exact same thing.
I married three years ago and was told the same thing.
But I too, and being treated just like you, with
possibly one exception. I am now beginning to think that my husband is having an affair, and
it's not all in my head.
Lots of things changed (for the worse) after about six months into our marriage.
Little by little I could see what a controlling man he was, and he also got angry at me, and most
of the time it was over stupid stuff.
I have caught him out in several lies now, and
his whole attitude toward me has changed.
The sad thing about all this is, I never did anything to cause him to treat me this way. I'm the same me, the same woman he married.
I haven't changed! He has..
I have come to the conclusion that his 'real' intent was to make himself happy, and when I didn't 'tow the line' by not allowing him to control me, thats when things went downhill.
My conclusion, I married a selfish, controlling
jerk who thinks he's perfect..

Id be like ehH? Im a guy!? I didnt marry you!

But seriously, I'd only marry a girl if I thought we made each other mutually happy.

I'd think the marriage was a mistake if my wife said that.

You married an overgrown boy who is still looking for his mother. A son wanted to make his mother happy as a way to maipulate her.

I would tell him that he thought wrong. Happiness comes from within not from the outside.
