ok so
i used to be in a band it was kinda like 80s rock/ ska band but we broke apart without playing ONE gig. we jst practiced and covered a few songs, but then our bassist moved or something and me and the guitarist were too lazy to look for another one
a few monthes ago, i got an add from couple of other guys from a nearby highschool (im in a different highskool btw) who wanted me in their band, so i was in but the music that those guys like isnt really my type. (they wanna play ALOT of blink and some good stuff like rage against the machine and guns n roses, etc) (other bands are fine, but they seem to REALLY like blink, which i dont really like, no offense to blink fans)
anyways, we've been practicing and we wrote a song, but no gigs yet
now, i just got a new add from my old guitarist and new bassist to make a deathmetal band, which i dont really like either
which band should i join? or if i join both, which should be my main one?
(i like most rock cept for sobby crap)

I say "Never turn down an opportunity to play" but at the same time, if you're not playing what you really like it can become a bummer.

How about advertising yourself as a player that likes your favorite type of music? Make a few flyers and post them in the local music stores.

If you don't like the music of either band, don't join either one.
keep playing what you like, don't let anyone force you to play what you don't like.
keep practicing, and keep on the lookout for other guys that might like what you do and put together another band.

Sounds like you need to find your type of rock band.
