Only two bolts. Check this pic http://partimages2.genpt.com/partimages/161041.jpg
Engine would have to be ceized for the starter to be OK
but not turn the engine. Check battery posts and make sure
they are not corroded. This means take off the terminals and
scrape the inside of the cable ends and the posts. Also, the (+) cable might be eatten away inside the insulation, requiring a new cable or cable end.

i agree with the last dude, this truck has 2 starter solenoids. one on the fender and one on the starter. usually with this problem you will find the small wire going to the starter to be loose or have a bad solenoid. one simple way to test the solenoid is to have one person try to start the truck while the other hits the starter with a hammer, or equivalent. 3 out of 4 times the car will start if the sol. is the prob., but first check ALL of the battery, starter connections as poor wiring connections are widely overlooked.

There is only 2 as you can see. Before you remove the starter, remove the belt. It is possable that the starter is good and one of the pullys( alt, power steraing pump) is locked up and will not allow the engine to spin.
If it is the starter it has only 2 bolts holding it in place and shoulden't take you more then say 1 hour to replace it.
If it is a pully it will take a lot longer.
Say the alt is locked up . It will not allow the belt to run when you turn the starter.

You probably got a wire corroded off at the top & the starter will need to be replaced.
Yeh you DO have the SURPRISE stud at the top. It's a bear to get at.
Feel around for it.As you are looking at the rear of the vehicle.it should
be on the top right side.
Hope this helps.
