It probably depends on what part of the country you live in. In many rural areas, the tradition of cooking is still very much intact. I would say that at least 60% of country folks can still cook. In the city, however, a fast paced lifestyle has diminished a large portion of would-be chefs. I believe that the city areas would have a much smaller percentage, probably about 5% able to cook. However, overall, I would say that around 10% of all Americans can cook, but that's just my opinion; not based on any facts whatsoever...

man idk, but im part of the percentange that can't cook, i wish i could so bad ...but when i get time maybe i can take cooking lessons, im not that horrible but not that good either hell maybe i will luck up and marry a chef and he can teach me.
