Why do people get online & "hit" on others & want to hook up when they are devoted to someone?

they're not geting what they need in the relationship, but that doesn't mean they dont love and wanna be with that person so they try to fulfill whatever they're missing online (since its fairly safe seeing as how you usually dont ever do anything in real life, some dont consider it actual cheating)
