Just a teaspoon of prune juice in about 100 ml of warm water should do the trick.

Try giving her some prune or apple juice mixed half and half with water if her bowel movements are hard or like clay. Be sure to use pasteurized juice. Avoid constipating foods like bananas, rice and carrots. Encourage her to drink some plain water throughout the day. Sometimes her body just needs to adjust to the changes in her diet. If the bowel movement is soft then she is most likely not constipated.

ok.. first of all, the BRAT diet is to stop diarrhea.. not to help with constipation.. so.. stay away from bananas, rice, applesauce, etc.
my baby is the same way.. it happens when you first start feeding solid foods.. but definitely (no matter what any pediatrician says- b/c according to the American Academy of Pediatrics a baby can go 2-3 weeks w/out a BM- my baby screams after 5 days) you need to get your baby back on track...
so, the best things to feed are prunes, peas, peaches, pears, and plums... make sure you are also giving her a little bit more water in her diet too, otherwise the extra fiber will only constipate her more.. do this by giving her apple juice or prune juice (the best if she likes it- mine loves it!) or even plum juice mixed 1/2 and 1/2 with water. stay away from rice cereal at this time, if you are giving this to baby and she should get back on track soon.. then you can start again with the rice cereal, but only give in small portions, with a fruit like peaches mixed in. i also do some tummy massages for my baby and warm baths... it can help relieve some of the tummy pains... best of luck.. she should get back on track soon.. you can also work her legs.. or if she has an exersaucer or something like that, let her stand in there and it usually helps them to work it out!

I'd agree with the prunes and the pear juice. Stay away from starchy things and that will help. Her lil system just needs to get used to solid food gradually. Plus, if she is new to solid food, she might be eating too much of it and not drinking enough, just because it is new - my baby did that when she had her first graham cracker - went on a graham cracker binge and refused to eat anything else for 3 days - but if that's the case she will even out.

Here are a few suggestions that should help:
Move her legs in a circular motion, like riding a bike....that, along with rubbing her tummy in a clockwise motion gentlly should help get the intestines moving, and may help. One surefire way to relieve constipation is to give her a teaspoon of Caro syrup. Thats available in any grocery store. If its very frequent or for prolonged periods of time, I know there are medicines your doctor can safely prescribe. Besides in that case, its best to talk to your doctor in those situations anyway!

the BRAT diet is bananas, rice, apples and toast. But that is for diarrea.

I hope you started with one food at a time, that way you can tell if something doesn't agree with your child.
My grandbaby had this problem at 3 months, and a pediatritian at the hospital I took her, told me about pear juice. That was even better than prune or any other juice. I also gave her pear each and every day after that and it kept her regular. She is going to be 7yrs in 2 days.

not a situation. on an analogous time as maximum toddlers are bodily waiting for, and attracted to solids at around 6 months, various healthful toddlers at the instant are not. and that's positive. At this age, and for the subsequent numerous months solids would be ninety 9.9% 'basically for exciting' -- his milk nonetheless supplies each and all of the foodstuff he desires. If he enjoys the apples, it somewhat is positive. you are able to save offering different meals, or you are able to wait till he's extra actively fascinated. some toddlers do not choose solids till they are in a position to feed themselves 'genuine' meals -- %. up table meals and devour them. maximum toddlers attain this degree around 7-9 months.

What were you feeding her. The best things to start with are sweet potatoes, yams and squash because it shouldn't stop her up as much.
