Is there a type of place similar to a pawn shop where you can sell used items?

Other than hosting a garage sale in your yard, is there a type of business where you can take items you don't need or want anymore and get money from them?

There are many thrift shops where I live but they're all donations only. They don't give you any money for the items.

Yes, "thrift shops" or "thrift stores":) You should be able to find them in the phone book.
