That depends what you mean by official price exactly. The MSRP on the phone was originally $499.99. It is now $399.99. You would only pay this price if you bought the phone without a contract as this is what is costs without the carrier's subsidy. The price you'd pay as a consumer under contract depends on the carrier and also usually depends on the length of contract as well. For example, Cingular has the KRZR K1m on a 2 year contract for $99.99 after mail in rebate. If you get prepaid, the subsidy is usually a lot less, but not as bad as paying the flat retail price.
