My suit is all black and white (black suit/shoes, white shirt/tie).
Her dress is greenish-bluish. Is it ok if she is getting me a white boutonnière? I just hope it is not all that critical as making sure the suit and dress don't clash. That I have covered.

This is actually a semi-formal that I am attending at my high school, so it's not really a prom, but a notch down.

Any advice/opinions from high school students specifically?

Thanks!

She could get a dyed to match boutonniere in a greenish blue or a white boutonniere would be just fine. Either, or is fine.

Actually, the boutonniere should match what you wear so the white would be good.

In the "olden days" when the guys wore light blue tuxes or suits and light blue frilly shirts - the boutonniere matched those funny suits.

Really, the white will be fine ;-)

The white boutonniere will look amazing with your suit AND her dress. Just have fun, be confident, and you're set! White goes with anything :)

I would get both the boutonniere and corsage to match her dress. For my prom, my bf got me a peach flower to match my peach dress and I got him a white boutonniere. It just looked awkward. So I recommend that the flowers are the same color.

White will be a class act, especially if it is a white sweetheart rose. Have fun! You can always have the florist add a blue/green ribbon to tie around the base of the flower, that way it all goes together.

i might flow with the adult adult males tux being black yet with a chrome or platinum (aka silver) colored vest and tie and a black blouse. for basically slightly pink accessory i might have his boutannaire be a pink flower and your corsage could have pink flora with silver ribbon

white goes with anything, it won't be clashing with her dress at all, getting blue carnations isn't nessecary to math her blue/green dress.
