The question should be, why shouldn't you be happy? Have you done something horrendous (rape, murder)? If not, then I dont' see why you shouldn't be happy.
Something bad happens to everybody, fact of life. Moreso than others. Bad things happening doesn't mean you're bad (so sorry karma), bad draw of luck.
I suggest making the best of things, seeing the silver lining in the clouds. Yes, cheesy remarks, but they Work. Sometimes you just can't help the bad things, but you can try to make them better. Try understand them, accept that they're bad and they happened to you, it's not your fault.
I highly doubt Everything in your life has gone wrong, near to be impossible. Go for some optimisim. Going through your whole life thinking everything is bad is just making yourself miserable. There is always something to be happy about, to make You happy. Look for Them, instead of looking at the bad things.
:)

First rule of happiness is that it isn't a constant state. Happiness, just like any other emotion, comes and goes. So, perhaps first you should think about what happiness means for you and then work towards making yourself happy. Second rule is, no one else can make you happy. Other people may make you smile for moments, can make you laugh for moments, but in the scheme of things, the only person that can bring happiness into your life is you. Plus, with the deserving thing, everyone deserves to be happy within themselves.

Nope you aren't being punished you are just going through a transition and are thinking negative. Everyone deserves to be happy, remember happiness or sadness are just a state of mind and you are the only thinker in your mind, nobody else can do it for you but you! When things go wrong for us it just means we are not going in the direction thats right for us and we have to change our course and find one that is right for us. Start again learn from past mistakes and move on, things can only get better!

Everybody deserves to be happy, but your own happiness should be measured by yourself and not others.
The perception of happiness is having a good paying job with an opposite sex partner, 2.3 kids, a new car and a minivan in the garage of a 3 or 4 bedroom house in the 'nicer' suburbs of the city with a neatly trimmed lawn.
The reality of this perception is that the good paying job is so stressful that the whole family is miserable, someone may not prefer an opposite sex partner, the new car and minivan have car payments that cannot be afforded, and the nice house is behind on mortgage payments.
If you feel that you are being punished, you may be trying to live up to someone else's standards instead of your own. Live your life for yourself and not for others and then you will not have to look for happiness, happiness will find you.

No, you do not. But you deserve the opportunity to try to attain happiness. Happiness is not a right or a guarantee. It is a place fortunate, wise, and hard-working people arrive at.
Some things go wrong and you never know why.
Other things go wrong because of your choices.
You need to think it through, where you are, what's going on, how you got into your present situation. Then decide what you want and how to get there and get on with it.

You know,
I have been thinking the same about my life. But Ihave to remember, that no matter what goes wrong in my life. Some one out there is seeing worse, but they still smile.
you don't believe me, look at the kids in the streets of Iraq, or afghanistan, Vietnam, Korea, Or Africa.
They all are still running, jumping, laughing and playing.
And you should take these "bad things" and think; without these insidances, you wouldn't know WHAT happieness is.
And THAT should make you happy.
It's more than what a rich b*tch could say.

Everyone deserves to be happy. You may need to stat looking at the smaller picture. Some days it thrills me to death when I see my favorite TV program or when I get home in a certain amount of time. Take the little things, and the bigger things will follow. You will be happy.

Of course you do. Even though things are hard, try to look around yourself and find the good things, concentrate on them, and look forward to the time when things will be better. You can always find happiness within yourself no matter what is happening around you. God Bless You!

I beileve that everyone has opportunities at happiness and emotional fulfillment. It is not exclusive to any one particular group. People have bad days. Be the best person you can be for yourself. Treat others the way you would like to be treated. Find something new that interests you. Things may look bleak, try your best to be optimistic. I wish you the best.

Everyone deserves happiness in their life. No matter their preferences, beliefs, or what have you. You will find your niche on of these days and the dark clouds will disappear. I am not saying there won't be bad days, but they will always clear up.
Just stay positive. Life has hit me with some punches but they made me stronger.
