I think it is a right, because a sick society is not a productive society. A country should invest in its citizens, not only from a humanity stance, but even from a socioeconomic view.

Right of privilege is not important. What is important is that sky-rocketing medical costs are putting our major employers at a global disadvantage. And medical costs for veterans, for retired government employees, and the disabled threaten to break the economy and bankrupt pension programs. With nearly 50 million uninsured, shameful infant mortality rates and ballooning administrative costs -- up to 40% for some private insurance providers -- the system is broken and can't survive.

Health care should be a right, currently there are 47 million people without affordable access to this vital service. these numbers will only continue to grow if something isn't done to reform the system. Health care is about life and death and should not just be a privilege of those that can afford it.

I believe it should be the right of every U.S. national to be provided with the same health care package that is given to the Senators and Congressmen who represent its citizenry. In addition, I think the burden should be removed from the employer because health care is out of control in the United States. What good is the latest and greatest medical technology and wonder drugs if no one except the richest of the rich can afford them?

Currently, it's a privilege to those who can afford it, but I think it should be a right. I mean, I just think that everyone should have the right to receive health care to be healthy and to live.

If you need some procedure that a doctor must do and can not afford it....there are hospitals that will do it for free...they aren't the best..but they are certified....that's the best you will get.

If the political leaders had to pay for their own health care the same percentage of their income as the rest of us it would already be fixed.
