My beta fish has a swollen eye and is staying at the bottom of his tank, does anyone know how to fix this?
Keep in mind he is very old for a beta almost 3 1/2 now.

Look at this link for the condition called pop-eye - this sounds like it might be what your betta has. There's info on treatment (ampycillin) in the link. http://www.bettatalk.com/betta_diseases.htm

Sounds like a fungal infection and you need to treat it straight away as it will spread to the other fish in your tank. Go to the pet store and get an anti fungal treatment and follow the instructions carefully. Treat the whole tank as a precaution but it should clear up in a week.

it could be pop eye...go to petsmart and look for the medication in a blue/white box that treats Pop Eye. I can't remember the name of it at the moment, but the box clearly says "treats Pop Eye"
