I really want to try out for the school's girl's soccer team. No one in my family has ever played a sport. (we're a VERY musical family, trust me on that) I'm not exactly a soccer pro, but it would help me mentally, physically, and I think it's great trying new things. But, I have advanced chorus on Monday from 6-8, ballet on Tuesday from 5-6, and show choir on Wednesday from 6-8. Soccer is every single day. I'm not even sure I would make it! And if I did, that would be a lot. Do you think I should try out and risk not only not making the team, but getting worn out every day? Or should I stick to what I'm doing?
Thank you. =D

You really want to try out for the soccer team and it will you help you as you said mentally and physicaly I suggest you go for it.Maybe try it out having 2 after school classes and them if you get too tired stick woht the one you like the best.Your parents and family won't judge you if you don't do something they want you too.Everyone is special and unique and they should be happy that someone in their family actually is trying something NEW.Do what you REALLY want to.If soccer is a dream and a want for you then your parents should do what they can in making it come true, every parent likes a happy kid!Find yourself in what you do do you enjoy it?Good Luck=]

1) Should I even try out? It's been a dream of mine to be on my high school soccer team, no matter what high school I went to. I know I'll regret it if I didn't even try out. :/ DEFINITELY TRY OUT. 2) I have less than 2 months until the tryout. How can I prepare myself? GO OUT EVERY DAY AND GET TOUCHES ON THE BALL. JUGGLE THE SOCCER BALL, DO BASIC MOVES AND CUTS, DRIBBLE THROUGH CONES, THE BASICS. IT'LL HELP DEVELOP THE SMALL SKILLS. 3) What store should I buy (cheap but good) soccer equipment? IF YOU LIVE IN ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, TRY SPORTS PAGE. IT'S IN HUNTINGTON BEACH, AND THEY HAVE GREAT DISCOUNTS. IF NOT, TRY BIG 5 OR A SOCCER CENTRAL. 4) What is the best position for a newbie? THAT DEPENDS. IF YOU'RE FAST, MAYBE FORWARD. IF YOU HAVE GOOD STAMINA, MIDFIELD. IF YOU'RE FAST, DEFENDER IS GOOD, TOO, BUR THAT'S A LOT OF CHASING AND WATCHING THE BALL. 5) At the tryout, will the coach ask if I played on any team before or had any experience? Of course I'll say no since I haven't, but will that affect my chance of getting into the team? THE COACH PROBABLY WILL ASK, AND IT DEPENDS ON THE COACH ON WHETHER OR NOT IT EFFECTS YOUR CHANCES. IF YOU APPEAR TO BE WILLING TO LEARN AND LISTEN, THE COACH MAY IGNORE E LACK OF EXPERIENCE. AND SAY NO, BUT YOUVE BEEN WORKING ON YOUR OWN. THAT ALWAYS SOUNDS GOOD TO A COACH. 6) What should I bring and wear to the tryout? WEAR ATHLETIC SHORTS AND A T-SHIRT. A TIE YOUR HAIR BACK. 7) I know this depends on the school, but how often are practices? FOR MY SCHOOL, THEY WERE EVERYDAY FOR TWO HOURS AFTER SCHOOL. 8) If you tried out for the JV Soccer team (girls), how was your experience? I MADE VARSITY THIS PAST YEAR AS A FRESHMAN, AND IT WAS OKAY. MY TEAM HAD A LOT OF DIVAS (coach included), AND A LOT OF CLASHING PERSONALITIES. WE BARELY MADE IT THROUGH SEASON, BUT A LOT OF THAT WAS THAT THERE WERE NO CONSEQUENCES. IM NOT TRYING TO SCARE YOU, BUT GO OUT FORTHE TEAM NO MATTER WHAT. REMEMBER, YOU'RE PLAYING FOR YOURSELF, SO DON'T LET OTHER PEOPLE BRING YOU DOWN OR CHANGE THAT.

The soccer season probably isn't very long, and it would get you in better shape so you wouldn't be so tired. Still, to add another activity, particularly a physical one, is going to be hard given your busy schedule.
But if you really WANT to try it, you might find that for all the music you make, you like sports better. My kids are both a few grades ahead because they are really smart, and they are into music lessons and singing, but they both just joined soccer teams. Will they be good? Oh, um, they aren't gonna be the stars of the team. But they'll be in better shape, they'll make a different kind of friends, they'll make memories, and just maybe they'll find that they enjoy it. Go ahead and try out. I'm sure you'll have to be running around to try out, and see how you feel afterwards, and that might help you with the decision if you make the team.

I think you should definatley try out. I am into music as well (classical voice, choirs, piano) and for me sports(soccer, track, crosscountry) are a really good stress reliever and help me sing better(purer tone, more vocal flexibility). The only problem you could run into is with ballet. If it's only an hour long class it shouldn't be too bad though. Good Luck:)

That depends on how much you like music. If soccer is everyday plus some kind of musical activity I think it would probably be to much stuff to do for one day and like you said it would probably stress you out. Maybe try it for a little while but don't obligate it and see how it goes.

If you really want to try soccer than drop one of classes you don't really like and sign up. It will keep you in shape and yes it will wear you out but it will be good for your health. Plus you'll get to learn something new as well which should make your parents proud.
