'Pick Up the Pieces' by The Sugi Tap is a great mellower song. I linked their myspace in the sources; you can give it a listen. Otherwise, I definitely agree with the person who suggested 'No Rain' by Blind Melon. Some other random good ones are 'Down' and 'I Miss You' by Blink-182, 'Blue Light' by Bloc Party, 'Girlfriend' by Eve 6, 'Strawberry Marigold' by Joydrop, 'Lullaby' by Lit, 'Star Witness' and 'The Needle Has Landed' by Neko Case, 'The Bleeding Heart Show' by The New Pornographers, 'Wide Awake' by Splender, and 'Closer to You' by The Wallflowers.

Theres mellow bands and songs out there. For bands check out Dashboard Confessional, Bayside, Bright Eyes, Mae, The Rocket Summer, Paramore, ad so many more.If youre looking for a bunch of songs try Dashboard Confessional's "Hands Down" "Screaming Infidelities" "The Best Deceptions" "Don't Wait" and "Ghost of a Good Thing" Otherwise check out some of the bands listed there all awesome.

I'm not sure if he's considered rock, but James Blunt's album Back to Bedlam is mellow and quite nice. I really love the song Goodbye My Lover.
