I still don't get Daylight Savings Time. I think it's pointless, unless you tell me otherwise...

Sometimes it's at an advantage, and sometimes it's not. I think the next one we have is an extra hour...In Arizona, they don't have daylight savings time, so if you really don't like it, move there! I love it there!!

It's not pointless. It was designed to have the sun be up when most people were outside, so that you could save energy.
If it were Standard time in June or July, in many places in the North, the sun would come up at 4 am. Exactly how many of you are up at 4 am to enjoy it? And it would set at about 8 pm, when whole loads of people are out. With DST, that moves from 5 am to 9 pm, which means that a whole lot less lighting is needed between 8 and 9 pm, when almost everyone is awake. Since very few people are awake between 4 and 5 am, there is less energy used at that time.

People in the southern states don't get as much of an advantage as the northern states. After Sunday, I will not have to turn on my lights for an extra hour. Multiply that by millions of homes and it really amounts to a lot.

I agree, i think it is a big disadvantage. I don't like it i wish it would go back to the way it was 30 years ago. I wish whomever decided to change it has a change of heart and changes it back.

They claim it saves electricity, which is stupid, because you have to use more to run the AC longer every day since it doesn't get dark until 9 freakin' oclock at night! You watch. They are going to use the bullsh*t to 'prove' global warming, lmao! They are a bunch of idiots in my opinion.

advantage because if we dont have them... in the next couple houndred of years, 2pm can turn out to be dark outside, and 2 am is bright outside!

i really like it because it gives more sunshine during hours when i can be outside working in the yard, playing golf, etc.
