they don't. 88 chevy pickup 250,000 hard miles and still strong and it has a v-6. your one of the reasons this country is in the shape its in. take a good look on this sight and see whats breaking down. most of them are jap scrap and hi end junk.i workin auto parts and i see it every day. honda ,toyota ,bmw, major expensive parts and ford ,chevy ,and chrysler mostly maintenance. i'd rather do maintenance than major repairs, why wont foreign cars run on regular unleaded? why if a rubber band they call a timing belt breaks the engine is usually shot?why cant u fix your own car and not have to pay an arm and a leg to do so?why is insurance so high on these cars (not safe maybe)or is it parts are expensive?maybe if everybody bought american and left those junks alone we could live like americans should and not turn into a foreign country ourselves. If you dont like it in the USA LEAVE IT

My family has owned majority Domestics and a few imports, and the imports have fallen apart before the domestis have even broken in. I have a friend whos Ford finally died, after him trying to kill it since 250 000km, the only things he did was oil changes after taht point, and safty issues, the car died at 335 000km, and its not "dead" it jsut needs to be repaired, quite fixable, i'm thinking about getting it and salvaging the engine from it for a project of mine. I work in a garage, and we service Fleet vehilce, and not one of them is below 300 000km, and they are all running strong. We service some taxi cabs, usually Crown Victorias/Grand Marques/Town cars, and i constantly see them kicking the bucket at 600 000km - 700 000km I see very few imports last 300 000km, and still drive good, and i see less last to 400 000km. The only imports I see pushing out 400 000km plus, believe it or not, Hyndai (newer styleing 2000 and newer).
The reason why American cars "suck" so much is because of people innattention to maintance. I see american vehilces well outlast imports. Asian vehicles are usually more "user friendly" but cost more for repairs. European vehicles are moreso long lasting, but then when the repair bill hits, it would be easier to give up your first born. American vehicles do need more maintance, but they have been designed taht way, space the bills out over a longer period of time, that way the repair costs are lowered, and the vehicle will have check ups more frequantly to make sure it is in good running order. People tend to neglect this fact and the vehicle suffers because of it. I will never buy anything that is not domestic, or a domestic badged as an import.

I believe the terrific answer. I could desire to admit that the rustic makes the main tasty autos on the exterior, like the ford mustang and save away from charger, yet they're crap on the interior, theyre glued with bubble gum. If GM, ford and chrysler might make such stable autos like toyota, honda or nissan, theyd be out of enterprise and identity purchase an american automobile, yet they dont. maximum persons purchase american autos out of blind patriotism, regardless of if the automobile spends extra time being repaired than on the line. My father had many american autos and that they have been all junk. with out finding out to purchase the automobile, you already sense if its sturdy or not. individuals autos suck so undesirable because of fact they dont be attentive to a thank you to make stable autos like toyota, they could desire to learn from the great boys and identity thankfully purchase an american automobile. American autos made the worst autos interior the international! Mercury, saturn, hummer, pontiac, oldsmobile, plymomouth have all long gone kaput.

Simple, they don't. The only lemon I have ever had was an import. The car that saved my life in a major accident was not an import. That's good enough for me.

American Union workers are lazy, they don't take any pride in their work. you see the same with "import" cars that are made in the USA. shoddy workmanship. The best engineering in the world can be screwed up by poor assembly.
