I've been there. It's scary. You reach a crossroads & there are two ways to go & you're so afraid to make a mistake. Whatever way you choose, you'll always remember the road not taken, a different life you could have had.

You follow your heart. You make the best choice that you can, what feels the most right to you & then you commit to it. The worst thing that you can do is refuse to make a decision, to remain at a stalemate afraid to move forward. Or to feel like you made a mistake & regret not taking the other path. You can drive yourself crazy this way!

There have been times when I had to choose between courses in school, between job opportunities, between places to live, between relationships/men. It is always hard to give something up. It feels like a loss but life is about choices. We can't possibly do/have everything.

I believe in fate. I believe that certain things are meant to be. So no matter what path you choose, somehow it will bring you to your destiny. So don't worry. There are no mistakes. Live your life & enjoy the journey. Make decisions, commit to making them work. Follow your heart. If you find that the path is not for you, it's never too late to take another path. Somehow everything works out for the best in the end.

I remember times when I was so torn & confused. I wished a big hand would reach down from the sky & point which way to go. I didn't want the responsibility for making a mistake. But we are the authors of our own lives. It turned out that I did make the right choice. I went in a direction that allowed me to achieve many of my dreams & meet people that I was meant to meet. So many wonderful things have happened as a chain reaction to my decision to move to this town (& buy a house on my own, the scariest thing I've ever done.) There will always be a part of me that will wonder about the alternate life that I could have had: the safe life in the community where I'd lived for decades, the safe relationship, the safe job, to stay with what was familiar. To stay in a comfortable rut and never grow. But I chose to take a big risk & it paid off (showing my paintings in art shows and selling some, performing my songs, getting my picture on the front of the paper, being on the radio, meeting Mr. Right....none of which would have happened if I hadn't moved here...)

Good luck.

You know what? Most Americans would choose the path to the right. Most Europeans, the left path. Obvious, isn't it? Americans are always told "keep to the right," while Europeans get the opposite admonition! It's basically road rules. But we are culturally ingrained to automatically take that route, almost anywhere. People will try to give all sorts of exotic, mystic, or spiritual explanations for their choice. But you pretty much have it here!

you should never choose until you are certain which road to choose. it is important to realise that one does not have to choose. one should stop, take a break and relax... ask the inner conscience... go get a map... with guidance, you will be able to make informed decision and learn to take the good and the bad of your decision.

I go on the path that looks the brightest and clearest just for my safety.
If all things are equal, I would go to the right for about a mile if it doesn't get me where I want to go, than retrace my steps and go left.

I would sit in the middle and wait for the next 18-wheeler, and when he would slow down so as not to run me over, I would pull some matrix type kung-fu sh1t and grab on to the back and kick my way through the top of the rear gate and I would climb inside and make myself a nice little cubby hole and drink all the beer in the back of the truck...

personally it would depend on the Elements around me.
I would take into consideration everything.
so if there was a slight breeze, the sun, water and of course the Earth if its hilly or flat green or dry.
These all would take effect.

It depends on my seeing range. If I like what I see that is heading from one road, then I would take it.

~I would just trudge straight ahead. Why do I want to go where everyone else has gone? But then again, my glass is neither half full nor half empty - I simply realize that someone used the wrong size glass.
