Well, we get to laugh at the dumb questions that come up, the strange spelling, and the really strange results of asking questions without punctuation*. We have the fun of showing off our knowledge in a place where there are lots of choices of areas and we can keep score as to both points and percentage of best answers. And it takes our mind off a lot of problems out there that we can't do anything about for a lot less money and risk than drugs and alcohol. Of course it does nothing for our waistline.
* "I have a baby Pacman frog and i throw crickets in the aquarium but haven't seen him eat any recommendations" Well, it is rare for a frog to eat recommendations.

Well the most logical reason(s) I can think off is..
1). Its like a POST Count with certain forums.
2). Price give-aways
3). Most valuable ( waisted ) person on the net.
