Though I am in no way related to NASA, even my childhood aim was similar to yours... But later I learnt that you need to be in the US and join NASA as a junior after completing an appropriate degree. That would be the surest way to enter NASA as far as my knowledge goes. Good Luck for your ambition... !

Hey Rajesh,
Even I am thinking of working in NASA one day...
Here are a few simple steps which might help you......

1) Read lots of books related to astronomy and attend workshops to gain enough information.

2) Give exams like Astronomy Olympiad. They will help you in preparing for your future career. Through these exams you might get exposed to various organisations (in India itself) which would help you to get a better approach to organisations like NASA.

3) Go for quiz contests (I am saying the ones on a high level). They might help you in some or the other way.

In short- Gain enough knowledge about the universe and PHYSICS(because that's the main factor which might irritate you with the different laws discovered by different scientists).

Second- Try to approach astronomical organisations in India itself.

Third- When you grow up, settle down in the USA, give the entrance exams through NASA.
And if you are the lucky one, you might be able to work with NASA some day!

I hope this information helps you.

All the best.

1. Move to the US
2. Become a US Citizen
3. Become a military officer in aviation by going to college at either a US service academy or at a civilian university on an ROTC scholarship (not required but it would help).
4. Get a PhD or an MD while you are a military aviator.

Piece of cake, everyone's doing it.
