write out the ions and then rearrange them to see what you get.

NH4(+)SO4(2-) + Ca(2+)CH3CO2(-)--------->

Ca(2+)SO4(2-) + NH4(+)CH3CO2(-)

which of the products are solid?? ... by memorizing your solubility rules you know that calcium sulfate is a solid. So yes there will be precipitation. All the other ions remain in solution so the net ionic equation contains only the ions that precipitate.

Ca(2+) aq + SO4(2-) aq ----> CaSO4(2-) solid
