you need to get yourself an attorney and than you need to retract your statement before this court date comes up.......and if this is not possible than you need to show up at court and come clean for your sake and the sake of this man......

I am not trying to be mean..but what you did was really wrong..on so many different levels.. not only morally wrong but against the law.......you need to really try and correct this mistake as fast as you can by any means possible... by taking steps of your own free will to correct this situation ...it will go a long way in helping your own cause later on if anything should come up.... If you say nothing and they find that you have lied ...it could really turn into one big ugly mess for you..uglier than it already is.. besides this point ,there is an innocent man that will be destroyed because of a lie you told...this is something that most people would have a hard time living with..

You are probably thinking that if you skip out of town during this trial you can save him from being tried and convicted of this crime ......but this is a child abuse case ..and the court will not drop these charges unless evidence can be produced to prove his innocence's.....

... I am not going to lie to you..what you have done is serious ...but I don't believe it is beyond repair.. if you make every effort to correct this situation as soon as possible ....... skipping town will not save this man and it will make you in contempt of court.....which will only make things worse....it could even bring social services down on your head....which you don't want....

just tell the truth for the sake of this man and yourself...

You will also have a warrant out for your arrest. Especially since you are the one that filed. Try to drop the claim FAST!

My brother went through it an almost went to jail.

1st, he didn't show up to court

2nd, warrant was issued for his arrest (for not appearing in court)

3rd suspended his license for the warrant

4th (especially in child abuse cases) the father may not be able to see the child pending investigation just in case he did abuse the child. When they find out he didn't , you could be under investigation for lying and making a false claim.
Claims like child abuse are not handled lightly, sometimes the state takes over (even when the case is dropped) and the child is taken from both parents till it is resolved.

5th, my brother finally ended up having to go to court and pay about $1800 in fines and do community service or go to jail

So, it is better to go to court, tell the judge you over reacted and you would trust the father to take care of his daughter and never cause her any harm.

Let the judge know that you and the father haver discussed the situation you feel that you over reacted. (you gotta take some blame to fix this)

that gets you out of saying you lied and reestablishes the father to his rightful place.

you will cause a lot of damage to yourself and the father by not showing up.

hope this helps

I am not an attorney. I believe that the charges will get dropped against your baby daddy if you are the only one testifying against him and if its his first offense etc., but I am not sure what happens to you... Did you mean that you got a summons or a subpoena...If its a subpoena to testify, you have to let the court know you cannot appear on that date and time, as that subpoena can be enforceable by the court....

If you don't show up, the judge will issue a bench warrant for your arrest. You can be jailed for contempt of court.

Change your plans and do what you need to do in court or you will be in big trouble.

You are already in enough trouble by charging your baby's father (note the correct grammar here) with a terrible offense that could ruin his life. You need to make it right.

Shame on you.

If you do not appear in court you could be held in contempt and then a warrant will be taken out for your arrest. Why in the heck would you want to lie about child abuse!? There are too many kids out there right now in terribly abusive homes being beat to death right now and you lie about it?! Shame on you!!! Don't go to court. You should spend a night in jail just for lying about it.

Your screwed. First you file a FALSE police report and now you're not even going to show up in court? Since when do they throw cases like this out?

well what made you tell the police that he did? he could go to jail.. so he did something.. more than likely if you tell the D A that you don't want to testify they may drop the case.. but be careful not to piss the D A or the judge cause that leads to other charges for you.. perjury and what not..

You have a serious problem, you filed a false police report and that decision would be up to the prosceutor to determine what happens to you.
I would contact the prosceutor and redact the report and let things fall where they may.
If the prosceutor has people prepare for this trial or hearing and you just pull back, it will make them very unhappy. Be streight with the prosceutor and your problems will be lessened I am sure. I can't believe you reported that when it didn't happen.
