If you are not good at rollerskating, will you suck at ice skating?
Seriously, I would think snowboarding would be easier simply because snow is usually more forgiving than cement if you fall. Also you are wearing more clothes to protect you if you fall. These two reasons would be enough to calm the worries of how badly one would get hurt in a wipeout, and could concnetrate on learning the balancing part better. And if you are more relaxed, It is easier to learn anything. Once you have a good sense of balance with the movement, it will be easier to try more complicated moves than just straight gliding. Then, once the snow melts, you can try out your skills on the skateboard and see how well you do--You should already have the balance part down, just a minor adjustment to wheels instead of flat board.
However, if your balancing skills are not good, or you have equalibrium problems, you may not be good at either sport.

ok, first off i think you just made alot of people pissed because you asked if snowboarding was easy. as for answering your question though, I would say that if your bad at skateboarding your going to suck at snowboarding, they are two different sports with alot of different styles. I have the same problem (if you think its a problem that is) i suck at skateboarding, but im great at snowboarding. even though im not that good on a skateboard i still do it during the summer just to keep in shape for snowboarding, the basic movements are the same so if i were you i just wouldnt worry about it, plus falling on snow doesnt hurt as much as falling on cement so that im hoping should push you not to get freaked out about not being good at snowboarding. bottom line just go for it

u may possibly be bad at both but there not really related. the only comparrision that would make the two similar is balance, without that you wont do well buyt snowboarding is on a board with no wheels in the snow down hill or on a half pip while skateboarding has wheels and u use ur fott to go faster and do tricks and such.

Snowboarding has a lot in common and it would help to know how to skateboard because it gives you a feel for maneuvering the board. It was however easier to snowboard.

Although both need a decent sense of balance, snowboarding uses a different set of muscles, you steer more with your back foot, rather than skateboarding which uses more of your front foot.
So to answer your question, just becasue you are not very good at skateboarding, does NOT mean that you will not succeed at snowboarding.
Good luck

i suck at skateboarding but i consider myself an intermediate-advanced snowboarder.
but i would think if you are good at skateboarding, you would be able to pickup snowboarding quicker.
but i guess i was jus more confident/comitted into learning snowboarding. im jus kinda scared on a skateboard (i rather eat snow rather than pavement lol)

i wouldn't say snowboarding is easy, but you wont suck at it because you cant skate well. i can do 360s snowboarding (working at 540s), but i can barley pop-shovit on a skateboard. i suck at skating, but not at snowboarding. its possible to suck at snowboarding and be good at skateboarding, or be good at both, or suck at both. i personally am way better at snowboarding than skateboarding. you might be like me, so give snowboarding a try
