Send an email to yahoo and let them know some one is using your account without your knowledge, and notify the local police to see if they can do anything.....Odds are probably not much, but if you have her yahoo info, and they can see that her IP address is actually the one getting into your account, they may at least delete her yahoo account!
Get ahold of yahoo and see what they can do.....
Also invest in a password program like TK8, this software is encrypted, and I have about 100 passwords on there. Not one of my passwords is smaller than 12 letters and numbers.......This will keep you safe from angry ex's, and hackers!

What should I do if I think someone has accessed my account?

Hello. I hope you appreciate my help...
Step 1: Change your password, birth, date and secret question.
Step 2: Scan your computer to see if your computer is infected with Trojan horses.
Step 3: Use McAfee 2007 to scan your computer.
Step 4 If the Trojan horse cannot be deleted, then reformat your hard drive by simply inserting the Windows XP CD and perform a fresh installation of windows... Once you have completed the installation, visit your computer website and download all the available drivers for your computer...
Step 5. Buy McAfee 2007, which includes Virus protection, hacker protection, spyware protection and wireless protection...
That's all you need.
Note: Keep your personal information private.

Probably none. You're gonna have a hard time "proving" any charges and even if you can, did they really "hack" into the account? Couldn't they argue that you've let them in in the past and therefore there is no crime?
If you haven't been hardmed in any way, and they haven't done any thing bad, just change the password and questions and move on.

How can an ex-friend be suddenly a they, instead of a him or her?
Obviously your ex-friend was privy to that information while "they" were friends with you. Not hard to figure out the answer to this problem. People change their email addresses often because of situations.

Its hard to prove hacking. Its a federal crime if you can prove it and would fall under the catagory of computer crimes. Call AOL and Yahoo and they might give you acess to your account back
