I have seen some of the generic "keyless entry intructions" on line, but nothing seems to work. My 2004 Tahoe came with a keyless entry, but I can not get it to work since the battery went dead. Does anyone know how to reprogram the remotes or a new remote? Thanks for your help!

Mike

Could be a bad remote, they sometimes go bad from getting wet, being dropped too many times, or just because.

To find out for sure if it's the remote, take it to your local GM dealer parts department. They'll have a box to test the remote to see if it's working or not, and should test it for free. If they want to charge to check it, go to the next closest dealership.

If you're under your basic 3yr 36k mile warranty the remote itself should be covered under the warranty (but not the batteries, of course). If you're out by a few thousand mles, or just a little bit of time, they might still cover it for you.

With the ignition OFF, hold down the power unlock button on the door panel.
Turn ignition key ON, OFF, ON, OFF.
Release power unlock button on the door panel. The locks will cycle once.
Hold down the keyless entry transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons for 15 seconds. Locks will again cycle once.
Turn the ignition on to exit programming mode.

This should work presuming you've replaced the keyless remote battery or the keyless remote has some other problem.

I particularly have a saturn 2002 that had similar issue. It had a body administration module that received the signal from the remotes. The body administration module needed to be programed by technique of the broking. My body administration module had failed so i could not have made the upkeep besides. The body administration module sounds like a pc board interior so as which could also be confusing, if no longer no longer accessible to fix. you'll desire a pc to make certain what isn't operating so I it will be confusing to fix this on your human being.

As for the same thing i told the owner of the dodge, CHECK THE OWNERS MANUAL. Its always in there. My dad has a denali and its in that book, so it seems only logical it would be in the tahoe's manual.
