due to the basketballs elasticity, the apple should bounce at least a little bit. you will especially notice this if you put the apple on top of the basketball and drop them at the same time from some height.

well i guess if the basktball stays put and the apple is aimed properly. and it might not have a visible rebound, could be just a few cm or mm
