Given the average song I find is around 5mB I would guess around 400 songs. However the ipod is likely to hold a little less then 2gB as things usually are smaller then the size given (any hard drive for example) and it really depends on the average file size of your songs.

depend on the mp3 size a normal 4 mins song with a decent quality is around 5 m..
