How many layers of mascara looks the best?

Question

I've heard that putting on too many layers of mascara causes it to dry up and fall off. But I've also heard that it doesn't. How many layers should I put? Please don't tell me to buy new ones.

I have many different types of mascara:
Estee Lauder : Lengthening Mascara
Mabellyne : Great Lash
and Lancome

You shouldnt add layers of mascara after it has dried. It tends to look spidery and gunky...and it will flake off if its too heavy. One or two coats should be good if you're using the right mascara. A good mascara doesnt have to be expensive. If your mascara is old it will dry out and not properly coat the lashes.

You don't have to buy new mascara - it's how you apply the product that matters, not which brand!

After you apply one layer and remember to apply a very light coating, let it dry for a minute and use an eyelash brush to separate any lashes that maybe clumped together. This is very important. After combing the lashes, then apply a second coat and let it dry for a minute as well.

Finally apply a third coat, only on the tips of the lashes.

I found that apply three coats in the above manner brings the best results. Remember that applying three light layers, allowing each to dry before apply the next, gives a better finish and more natural looking lashes.

Hey honestly, i think that you should put on just enough to accentuate your lashes, but as soon as they start feeling clumpy or heavy, that is too much. I have recieved many compliments on my eyelashes and my friend too. We use the same kind of mascara and apply it very similarly. We use the basic Loreal brownish black waterproof mascara. It comes in a long gold tube w/ a blue ring on it. It's like 4- 5 bucks.

for me, i go crazy with mascara!! i apply maybe 3 to 4 layers but its up to you how much you wanna put on just as long as it looks good!!

put a layer then let it dry and put another one and if it gets all clumpy use a safety pin to separate the lashes but BE CAREFUL! dont poke urself in the eye lol

2 should be all u need. Wait till the first drys thou b4 u apply the second coat

what i do is right when i wake up i wash my face and everything and then after do my makup and then later before i leave i put on another layer and thats about it you can use any mascara

buy whatever mascara you like on you and I usually do two layers .The first one for length the next to fill them out and make them thicker.
