Hellish periods!
I am the Queen of those!!
Here's the only stuff that works for me:
Ibuprofin/Alieve/Advil - something to deal with the swelling aspect (but not too much or it will make your intestines bleed!)
Heat pad or Hot Water bottles are your friend!
Sleep!
If you have to work, invest in one of those ThermaRest wrap-arounds that go around your waist - aaaahhhhhh. They'll last for 2-3 days. Well worth the 7 or 8 bucks.
Bum Vicodins, Oxycontins, Hydrocodones, off your friends with chronic pain. Take ONE on your worst day. Illegal? Yes. Worth it - OH yeah. Take one and prepare to sleep the rest of the day away in pain-free bliss. (If my periods were not enough to lay me out in bed screaming so bad my husband wants to take me to the emergency room, trust me I would not explore illegal options like this, but when you go to the ER they just say, "Oh there's nothing we can do! It's probably just in your head! Here's some Midol!")
Caffeine - pair some coffee with that ibuprofin. It will dialate your blood vessels and help it work better and increase circulation down there.

oh i remember those good old days........What i would do if i were you is ask your doctor to prescribe a birth control pill by the name of YAZ.....YAZ is especially helpful when you have these "hellish periods"... your flow is only 3 days and then it is very light..almost like not having a period.....Many women are taking the Yaz for various reasons such as they only want a 3 day period and they want their period to be much lighter than usual and it can help with the mood swings and also can help your complexion if you tend to have that problem.
