for some who hate highschool and totally dont want it , college days is a relief, you can fin more interesting people in college, real people, there you are not labeled, there are no groups you are entitled to your individuality
college has been a turning point in my life, i loved it
dont be like that girl who dropped out of college, sometimes some realize that they dont need going to college but you must know college can offer you a broad knowledge, not all knowledge but it would open a lot of doors and experiences, dont rush in going out, stay in college and prepare yourselves, youre on a fresh new start , a new beginning, you can be you.
dont think about what would make money , think about what would you enjoy doing for the rest of your life, i should have taken up nursing cause it pays a lot but i chose philosophy, it fulfills my soul , dont be trapped in the dilemma with money, choose what you want, what is in your heart, because if you only think about the job that would give you money you would never get to you, be positive, college life is what you make it

It's very different. The positive side is FREEDOM, the down side is more responsibility and pressure. It's a journey. Hopefully you land the right job to get you started. I wasn't sure where I was going, but things just kind of fell into place.
As far as the anxiety goes, Social anxiety can cause these feelings, which can also lead to severe depression,
http://www.socialanxietyinstitute.org/ds...
if not you could be suffering from Generalized Anxiety
Disorder..http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/general_anx...
There is hope; I've been there, and still am there, it is a long, hard struggle. I recommend
Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/cognitive_b... worked best for me, with mild anti-anxiety meds. I suffered from social anxiety for over 15 years. I've tried individual therapy, and group therapy and studied psychology for 10 years, as a profession, but also with the hope to cure myself.
Depending on your comfort level, you could go to a psychologist that practices CBT and specializes in anxiety disorders, seek a group therapy, or create one. Usually those that do attend the group therapy are a bit more high functioning because as you know, it can be difficult to speak in a group.
Another idea is to see if there are any local research studies being conducted that you could participate in.
The program that finally worked the best for me is this one: http://www.socialanxiety.us/findinghelp.... and I was lucky enough to have a structured behavioral group to go along with it. Sometimes the people that actually attend this program come back home and form groups.
Any questions, let me know ... I can't tell you how much this has improved my life!

I'm going though something similar, but not as severe. I found that it works to suck it up and get though it. Like when it comes to presentations, I just remember that everyone else has to do it too, and there are other kids that are scared/nervous too. It's only high school, these people wont matter five years from now. And remember, a more confident person is a more beautiful person!! P.S., I'm a jr in high school also, so I know exactly how you feel.

Actually you sound articulate and conscientious with forethought, three very important key ingredients for success. It's normal to be clueless about what you'll find when you're in college, but you like most before you, will find subjects or courses that you didn't know you liked, then they lead to things that you never considered connected. Just go with an open mind and with a serious mindset. If you can be mature about not partying like crazy and you actually attend the university with the intention of finding your interests there, then you'll do great.
What you feel is totally normal, just try not to decide too much before you get there. Your counselors will help you more than you think.
Best of luck to you. You'll be fine, I can tell from the fact that you want to find out and improve.

Its hard to deal with an uncertain future. All I can say is that things do work out. Just breath and focus on the next right thing. If you are hardworking and kind, you can go far in almost any job. Also, support your boss and dont talk about people behind their backs. Okay, Im out of sage advice.
