If a colder airmass actively replaces the warmer air at the surface then the front is called a cold front.Cold fronts have a slope of 1/40 to 1/80 whereas a warm front has a slope of 1/100 approximately. As the slope is gradual and a warm front moves slower than the cold front, the warm front covers a larger area.Cloud systems exit ahead of the warm front to the extent of approximately 1000 miles with cirrus cloud at the extreme end and stratiform clouds like As and Ns upto a distance of 500 miles.Occasionally the warmer air which is moving over the colder air may be more unstable in which case thunderstorm and rain may occur sometimes.
On the other hand, along a cold front there is a well marked wind shift with heavy rain, snow, frequent thunderstorms, line-squalls,turbulance and icing.Cloud systems precede the cold front upto approximately 100 miles. The main belt may be 50 to 100 miles wide. From the above facts you can infer that "B" is the correct answer.
