I have an old Cactus and a large piece fell off today ,It looks like it just came lose at the knuckle of the plant ........it was to heavy and I tried to prop it up when it fell off very clean looking section ??????????

Yes, you can either put it directly into the soil, or put the piece into a glass of water to root. It'll take a few weeks to grow good strong roots, so I prefer being able to see the roots grow in water.

Easiest thing in the world to root. Place cutting into rich potting soil and water well. Feed with 1/2 strength Miracle Gro approx. once a week. You can bury an entire "knuckle" to root it....

yes my mom has one.. now is really nice size. it was from a cutting
