You don't need a degree. They care more about your experience.

If you want to predict the future a little, get a business degree with a strong background in math. That's because it's likely that the Moneyball techniques will transfer over from baseball into football as well. Then you can shoot for being a GM over a scout. Not too many female scouts at all. You have a better shot at being a female GM. Football's particularly tough cuz it's so macho.

If you are talking high school you don't need any degree at all. Helps to be in the school system just get a secondary education degree, once you get a job at a school then apply for a open coaching position. Hell For the 4 years while I was in college I was the JV football coach at a class A school, (1,200+ in Michigan). Best thing to do is to meet or befriend the Head Coach or Athletic Director of a school.

Maybe a combination of sports physiology (kinesiology) and marketing. But that's just a guess.
