No, I do however, believe in the possiblity in life of EXTRA-terrestrial beeing elsewhere in the universe.

Absolutely.
Unfortunately, the reality is that the distances are so great, contact may never occur.
For instance, if we were to scale our sun down to the size of a period on a type written page - our closest star would be 8 miles away!
Unless we can discover a way to cover great distances in a reasonable amount of time - it is unlikely we will ever know.
Even our radio signals - at the speed of light - only travel less than a quarter of the distance to our nearest star in a year's time(Proxima Centauri). There are only 40 stars within 16 light years from earth - and the observable universe has billions of stars!
Talk about the proverbial needle in a haystack.

The probability of life existing elsewhere in the universe is not "1", as stated by another respondent to this question. The problem with that statement is that the mathematical theorems underlying probability theory require a finite sample space. Since the universe is infinite (thus not a finite sample space), there is no way to calculate the probability of life on another planet.

yes, the universe it huge, 13 billion light years across. Earthlings are primitive species of life. however there is no proof that other life exists. This is because it is so big. I mean radio astronomy has only been around for 60 years, so that means our transmissions have only traveled 60 light years outward. We probably will not detect life for millions of years to come, but one day we will. I promise.

terrestrial means earth-bound. There is likely extra-terrestrial life elsewhere.

I imagine there's something looking up to the same stars at the same time as me wondering what else is out in the universe.

Of course there is. Havent you ever seen 3rd Rock From the Sun?
(Nyuk)
But seriously, yes there is. It would be presumtuous and pompous of man to think he is the only or smartest in the universe!
(shhh-how do you think the liberals got here?.....shhhh....some of them don't know they are alien spawn...shhhh.back in the '60s & '70s)

Absolutely! It's selfish to think that Earth is the only planet in our vast universe that hosts intelligent lifeforms...
