Cincinatti - from what I've heard there are some crime issues there and not a very well reputed education system. I know people who live there and are teachers and they hate it.

Lived in Cleveland area for 10 years - Suburbs are fine, not much to do in the actual city, downtown area is not being built up and becoming a run down. You dont want to live in Downtown, Cleveland...too close to East Cleveland and Euclid (bad areas) but the suburbs are safe and many have good schools (except some of the ones right around the city that are part of Cleveland school district)

Columbus is really up and coming. Many young people are going there for jobs after college, Good schools, only a portion of the city is run down (around Ohio State where some of the houses that students rent out are, but not anywhere you would actually live unless you went to school there). Cheap home prices compared to Cleveland. Though you're right in the middle of the state so you're not near any other big city.

I vote for Columbus!
