Cincinnati is not a great place to live in.
Full of crimes and law enforcement stinks.
Alot of black entertainers have banned Cincinnati because of the cop crimes against them and I can't blame them...
I don't know much about Cleveland though.

Cincinnati hands down. Are you guys speaking of the riots? Or the shootings at the rap club in Roselawn? Please, select group of people, in isolated areas. Drive 10 minutes in either direction has you safe and sound.
Cincinnati is laid out well. Some traffic, nothing unmanagable. Live off 75 10-20 minutes north of downtown and you have a 15-20 minutes drive to 5 malls. If you want to party go to the water front or Mt. Adams.
Everything is close to everything else. Cleveland on the other hand, is sprawling. When you say you live across town, East or West, that's quite a distance. Not to mention the winter weather coming off the lake. If Cleveland gets 3-4 feet, Cincinnati gets 3-4 inches or nothing at all. As an example.
Every city has it's issues, but as far as cities go Cincinnati has a lot of perks, and crime isn't one of them. Back when Main Street was the place to go, I felt alright walking around drunk between bars in the middle of downtown. Or parties on the U.C. campus in Clifton, up the hill from the Rhine. Or concerts at Bogart's on Short Vine.
Cincinnati is the only place I know of where less than 30 minutes of driving will get you to a concert, a horse track, a couple of casinos, bar districts, shopping, a theme park, colleges, all kinds of stuff. You can work, play, and live a short distance apart from each place, and if you get bored, drive a few minutes to a new spot. Cincinnati is big enough to offer big city things, but small enough for it to feel like home.

Cincinatti - from what I've heard there are some crime issues there and not a very well reputed education system. I know people who live there and are teachers and they hate it.
Lived in Cleveland area for 10 years - Suburbs are fine, not much to do in the actual city, downtown area is not being built up and becoming a run down. You dont want to live in Downtown, Cleveland...too close to East Cleveland and Euclid (bad areas) but the suburbs are safe and many have good schools (except some of the ones right around the city that are part of Cleveland school district)
Columbus is really up and coming. Many young people are going there for jobs after college, Good schools, only a portion of the city is run down (around Ohio State where some of the houses that students rent out are, but not anywhere you would actually live unless you went to school there). Cheap home prices compared to Cleveland. Though you're right in the middle of the state so you're not near any other big city.

I'm from Cincinnati and I have been to Cleveland once...and will never go back again.
Cleveland is just a dirty city that is hard to navigate around and it gets much colder there than it does in Cincy.
I'm not even going to touch the Bengals/Browns rivalry. I personally don't care about the football teams.
Recently, the crime wave has subsided in Cincy. While it is true that the riots and boycotts have driven away employers, entertainers, revenue, etc., a lot of development and rehabilitation is underway to make the city the lovable and live able community it once was.
I will always call Cincy my home
Oh yeah, Proctor Gamble and GE...need I say more?

I have to agree about Columbus being better than either Cleveland or Cincinnati. I visit the other two fairly often because they do offer some great museums and amusement parks, but I would never live in either. Columbus puts you smack in the middle of both, so you are within 2 hrs of them. It offers great housing, jobs, and lots of cool places in the area. Don't forget that Cleveland has terrible winter weather, and Cincinnati has an incredibly high crime rate.

Both cities have good and bad about them. Don't know where people are coming from with the crime thing in Cincinnati. Cincy's crime rate is actually alot lower than Clevelands. Cincy is a great place to live, great neighborhoods, great shopping and some of the best restaurants in the country. There is plenty to do around the area and the cost of living is lower.
Why not go to both and see for yourself?

Cinci...it seems to be less congested...the freeways are easier to navigate...I had to go to Cleveland once for work, it was awful...I couldn't find my way around at all...had to stop several times to ask for directions on what should have been a "straight" shot. The maps I got on line were not marked w/ the same street names as what is actually there...it was nuts!!
