Hidden surveillance in the workplace is usually set up to catch thieves. The bonus for the company is that it also catches employees goofing off or even engaged in more sordid activity. There is no constitutional concern here. Privacy rights are often brought up about surveillance but as long as the cameras are not in bathrooms or dressing rooms (locker rooms) privacy is protected.

I work at a bank at it happens to me all day, every day that I work. Join the club - employee theft and slacking off is on the rise. As long as the cameras aren't in the bathroom or designated break rooms, there shouldn't be anything unconstitutional about it.

The Constitutional protections are only from GOVERNMENT intrusion. There may be statutory laws regarding behavior of employees. Consult a lawyer in your state.

Go to the post office sometime and check out all the cameras there. They also have enclosed catwalks complete with listening devices.

Absolutely constitutional, because one of the sad tragedies of our society today is that we have forgotten that the Bill of Rights applies to GOVERNMENT ALONE, not anybody else. Now if your employer is the feds...

It is not a US Const. issue. This has nothing to do with the gov't relationship to the people.
