Car accidents. I can't tell you how many people at my school had them during lunch time racing to get back to class in time.

I think that the bad has ruined it for the good. I used to work at a high school and they closed their campus for a few reasons.
1. So that the students would return after lunch.
2. To make it more difficult for teens to get drugs and alcohol.
3. Less auto accidents with cars full of students.
4. not mentioned but thought of (birth control).

I was a small high school that had open campus for lunch. A group went down the street and got drunk a couple times and ruined it for everyone. However, not too long after open campus ended, it was given back to students on the honor roll. I was happy about that.

Because they can ditch school and not come back for the rest of the day...it is also a safety hazard since they are only teenagers, they wouldn't know what to do if something bad happened to them.

The school is responsible for the student while they are in school or under their supervision. It really is for the well being & safety
of the students.

because they can get into trouble, they may find it hard to go back...several reasons, but i think it should be allowed.
