I have a 6 1/2 month old. Every nurse/drs/books/CDs etc are advising of this and that, what not to do and what to do, when to do it and when not to do it. I've spoken to so many ppl prior to my baby's generation in regards to food. I myself was fed solids at 3-4 months, meat at 6 months, I am fine. I have absolutely no food allergy neither does my husband, my brothers, his brothers. So why is it now ppl are so obsessed with what to do with our newborns? Are we the reason why they are allergic to certain things now because we obsessed on what our drs/their ped tells us????

I bought her organic fruits and she gags at it. Could it be that it's too soon? she's 6 months? she spits it out. I've tried banana, prune and mix fruits.

Marriedso...sorry to hear about your baby. 1 month is too early for solids. I've never heard of anyone giving a 1 month old solids. Aww your poor baby. I will pray for her during her surgery. Good luck.

I don't think we are causing allergies by waiting on solids. I think our diet in general is causing allergies. Look at the most allergenic foods:

Dairy - one of the most processed foods, we're meant to drink dairy raw, not pasturized and homogenized

Soy - Overused as a filler in processed foods and ussually genetically modified

Wheat- Overused and modified with "enrichment"

Corn - Overused as a filler and modified

Peanuts - Extremely processed

Our bodies don't know what to do with this "fake" food.

Another big reason is that we don't pay alot of attention to the health of our guts. We use anti-biotics freely and many kids don't get off to a good start when it comes to gut flora and good bacteria.

When you have a gut that doesnt digest food properly, you body can't tolerate and obsorb the food and it reacts to it. I am allergic to dairy and the way i understand it is that i don't digest casein (cows milk protein). The casein gets obsorbed directly into my bloodstream and causes havoc in my system. This full lenth casien also gets passed to my son via breastmilk and causes havoc on his system too... does that make sense?

Waiting to start solids is only one small thing we can do to ensure the health of our kids. Breastfeeding is another, much more important thing and eating all whole-foods (organic when possible) thereafter will ensure life-long health.

well we are obsessed b/c its all true. My baby is 9 months old, and my mother in law gave her ceral at 1 month without me knowing, she was hospitalized b/c she was so sick. Then If thats not bad enough, she gave her milk 2 wks ago and she was lactose intolerant and it screwed up her intestines and needs to have sergery in 1 week on them. The reason they didnt care back then is b/c they didnt have the technology they have now, they are right now, theyre are a lot of foods, that are causing health problems. Listen to your doctor!!!!!

I think the allergies come from all the chemicals in today's foods. Most food is processed, try all organic if you can afford it.
