I see what you are saying but she could never be as good as Aaliyah.
Aaliyah was unique, I loved all her songs!!

Wow, I really don't keep up w/ Ciara's music, but I loved Aaliyah! But now that you mention it she does remind me of her a little. She will never be Aaliyah, she is just her own person doing her own thing. She also reminds me of Janet Jackson. If she passed away woud you be saying the same thing?

oh my gosh!!!!!!!!
i just told my husband that about a month ago!!!!!!!!
yes definetly... and it really p****** me off. i loved Aaliyah!! and i dont really like ciara. i actuallu liked her song promise but probably because it was similar to Aaliyah's.
even her video is the same as one of Aaliyahs.
I dont really like all the new artists coming out because they are all copying someone else... they cant just be original and use their own stuff you know?
but i think that ciara doesnt even compare to Aaliyah

well when you take a closer look at all the young celebrity singers they are all trying to copy Aaliyah. I thank you so much for posting this because my sister and I were arguing over who was copying who and I said Cassie and Ciara are trying to copy Aaliyah and Lisa "Left-eye" Lopes. what's freaky about it is they are trying their hardest to copy these famous artist like Aaliyah and Left-eye. GOD BLESS THEM.

Lots of people use others music but it does not mean they want to be like them. However both artists are extremely talented and I don't blame Ciara wanting to use Aliyah's music to create something new.

ciara is definately starting to be a shadow of aaliyah. she is trying to do what she did by acting/singing/producing records and she is trying to shadow her performances. I think she wants us to remember aaliyah through her.

Honestly they are both incredible in their own ways.....I have incredible appreciation for a woman who puts herself out there, bound to be scrutinized, and i do not blame you for asking, for at times I wonder about certain celebs myself.
However, i find them both different...and music has changed for women singers so much that it could be construed that one may be trying to be like another. it is all preference. I should be so fortunate as to have that kind of talent.......which I don't...who knows, maybe next time ...another incarnation!!!!!

YOU TOOK THE WORDS OUT MY MOUTH. AALIYAH IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE ARTIST AND I TRULY THINK SHE IS TRYING TO BE SIMILAR TO THAT IF NOT BEING THAT. AND IF YOU LOOK AT THE ''PROMISE'' VIDEO U COULD DEFIANTLY SEE, SHE IS TRYING TO BE HER.
