ours were great with them - we had three over time, and bred siamese cats - they adopted the cats as family without any issues, like they knew they are in the house so they must be protected. Hope yours works out too! Good luck!

I would think it would totally depend on the dog and cats nature. Is your cat completely dominant of you and the house? As well as, does the dog want to be dominant of you and the house? If that is the case...it might not be wise. I don't think with the dog being Doberman would have a thing to do with it, even though they may slightly be more aggressive than other breeds. Definately would be judged by it's own individual personality.

Whether a dog gets along with cats has little to do with the breed of the dog but the training and temperament of the individual dog. If the dog is a puppy, you should have no problem training him to be good with your cats. If it is an adult, the place where you are adopting it from should be able to give you information about his background and whether he is good with other animals. Dobbies are actually quite easy to train and are good dogs, so even an adult could be trained to be good with your cats if you have the patience.

No not at all, unless the doberman is a puppy and the cat can play with it. As your doberman grows up with a cat, then it might be safe.

Depends on when you get him/her. My uncle has a dobie and got him when he was 2yrs from the pound. He already has two cats. They get along just perfectly. I have one other friend that lives close by who has 3 dobies, 4 cats and a bunny they get along good also. I would recommend to get your dobie as a puppy, seeing your cats have not been around dogs before. OR take your cats for a visit to friends of yours who have dogs that are good and calm with cats

I'm just gonna say no...provided that you know how BIG dobermans can get....
Also, a friend of mine had a doberman that was always chasing the neighbor's cats.

If the dobie is a pup no problem, they will grow together, it will take about 7 days to get use to each other,.
Don't risk it with an adult.
