Katy, Watson and Crick elucidated the structure of DNA. The did not steal it from Rosalind Franklin and that is a base canard put forth by some type of relativistic feminists. Rosalind Franklin contributed to the discovery, but, both her and Maurice Wilkins were advised by Watson to make models; they did not. Many stereo-chemical problems, not having anything to do with Franklin's picture, had to be solved to elucidate the structure. Model building was the way to do this, as Linus Pauling had done for protein structure. Watson and Crick both deserved their prize and lies do not glorify the name of Rosalind Franklin.

PS Rosalind Franklin did die of cancer, but to attribute that to the experiments she did is to do so without evidence. Rather as that base insult you gave Watson and Crick.

The question of who discovered the structure of DNA?.

yes WATSON & CRICK was credited nobel prize for elucidating the DNA structure but they are not the prime persons for that.

They are only the displaying agents for the DNA to this world and scientist community. But the real and hidden legendary peoples behind this work is ROSALIND FRANKLIN & MAURICE WILKINS.

So thats why even the CRICK said in one of a publishing that the DNA exposure to the world is made by ROSALIND FRANKLIN , MAURICE WILKINS , WATSON AND I. he said.

Watson and Crick, even though it was standing on the shoulders of giants somewhat. They stole a lot of their research from a woman named Rosalind Franklin, who was waiting to publish her results until she knew for sure she was right. She was the one who made the discovery, but they were the ones that scooped her research and were subsequently credited for it (she died of cancer because of doing the experiments, sadly, so that's why she was not one of the recipients of the Nobel Prize for the discovery -- they cannot give the Nobel Prize to a deceased person).
