I cant think of a sentence with alas, but look on internet for the verse: A SUNDAY MORNING TRAGEDY to see the use of it.

For Chalice: The use of a chalice is very feminine symbol.

For Perch: The woman uncoiled from her perch and walked to her house.

For Throbs: My heart throbs with joy

Thats all, I´`m tired, bye

....and tell me WHAT is your dissability?

Alas, my heart throbs not with glee as I lift my chalice to drink to life since, although I am king and reign from my lofty perch, I am but mortal and it grieves me so.

Alas, I have lost my keys!
The golden chalice had been buried for 1000 years.
Humpty Dumpty fell from his precarious perch.
My heart throbs rapidly when I exercise.
The hyena laughs with hysterical glee.

Now you have several choices.
