The only time I've ever been to the ER was one week after 9/11 happened. I had appendicitis but they didn't discover that was the problem until several days later when I had to return because I got worse. The first visit earlier in the week was diagnosed incorrectly as gastritis. I was very uncomfortable, had a fever and was getting sick. I had to wait in the ER all night and they sent me home with that false diagnosis, a shot for nausea and a Rx for pain meds. A few nights later I had throbbing down in my right groin and a relative told me that this sounds like appendicitis. I went back to the ER and they did a CT scan. They found that my appendix had ruptured by this time and had already started to form gangrene and peritonitis. I had emergency surgery (my first ever) at 1:00am and I was scared. I woke up a while later with sharp, burning pain in my lower abdominal area. They put me on a morphine pump. I couldn't drink anything for two days. All I could have was a damp wash cloth to the lips. When I first got to get up later in the week ( I had to stay 6 days)...it was so painful and it felt weird. They had to do an open-appendectomy instead of a laprascopic procedure (through your belly-button) and they had to insert packing into the wound. The worst part was when the nurse had to change out the packing. The nurses told me that I was lucky to be alive and that I had the best doctor around doing my surgery. It was a hard thing to tolerate but I made it through and something like this happening to you makes you realize just how strong you are. It also makes you realize how quick it can all be over. It was quite an experience, let me tell ya.

Went to my cousins wedding with a new pair of shoes. The shoes fit perfect but all night i was afraid i was going to trip.
Well, i did really good at the wedding, even danced my butt off. Had a couple of cocktails and when i got home that night, around 1 am, grabbed the dog to take outside and i fell down my back porch steps LOL hurt my knee really bad. It was all scraped and in the morning it was very swollen thats when i went to the ER.

I broke my wrist rollerskatiing. They were taking x-rays and you could hear me all through the ER screaming! Not fun. When I told people how I broke my wrist, some of them almost laughed, like, you're not a kid anymore, you're not supposed to be rollerskating. But I've rollerskated all my life, I'm not stopping now!

It was from having severe abdominal pain. No one has ever found out the cause. I've had it many times. It feels like labor pains. I thank God I haven't had it in years. I really feel like it was all related to stress on the job and at home.

Broken little toe on left foot. It was sticking straight out sideways!
The resetting process hurt worse than the actual injury, even with the pain killer.

This is somewhat embarassing, but here goes.
When I was 8 months along, I thought for sure I was having a heart attack, or at the very least a stroke! Turned out to be acid reflux.
