I want someone to listen to a real foster parent with concerns for our children. Our foster children have no rights they are placed with the state and given to us foster parents to raise. In return we have no say in helping the court decide what is in the best interest of the child. I want these children to have a voice and for there to be no more broken families. We are a happy family but we havent much time because after a year of having these children they will be returning to a mother they have only seen 6 hour in the past ten months. These poor children are going to feel abandoned again. I have to speak out against these laws in place, can someone please guide me in the right direction. I may not be able to save my children, but there are lots more that will be facing this same tragedy.

The best chance would be to contact your state legislator, most often when contacted, they will pick up on legitimate concerns, contacting the governors office may help as well. Unfortunately these contacts often go unheard. The next step would be local and area media, newspapers, local television, etc. Unfortunately often times the only way to get government officials attention is to give them a little bad press, it's amazing, and a little sad how quickly they will act out of sheer damage control.

The other way would be to be involved directly, regardless of your general political views, often if you actively support a candidate that you believe in though an election cycle, face time with them becomes much more available, and often is more seriously considered.

Contact your legislator and your congressman , govenor if your are set on doing this make it happen , its hard to say never give up but if its worth doing its worth the effort. I do agree that the children are often not heard. My 2 great niece's were taken from their parents , given to their grandparents by OCS. they are happier children what will happen if they go back to the real parents.
