I am a Certified Nursing Assistant and live in Florida, so I can give you some average figures:
If you work in an assisted living facility, starting pay would most likely be between $7.25 per hour to possibly $9.00 per hour depending upon what your job would be; you would be paid more for working in an Alzheimer's unit or if you were to be the person assisting the residents with medications.
If you work in a nursing home, starting pay will be higher, perhaps between $8.00 to $10.00 per hour, also dependent upon whether you work on a skilled unit or one where you provide custodial care.
If you work in a hospital, you would probably start at about $10.00 to $12.00 per hour depending upon your experience and, again, upon the unit where you worked -- more for the most critical wards, obviously.
If you work for a home health agency, you can probably make between $12.00 and $15.00 per hour, also dependent upon the type of care you provide.
I have not worked in Tampa but in Charlotte County somewhat south of there and also in Tallahassee, so possibly pay may be higher in Tamps which is a larger urban center. I hope that my figures will provide you a basic idea of the current pay schedules in Florida.

Not worth the time and effort. You can be a private CNA or work for a nursing home. Nursing homes are horrible and most places don't require you to have a lisc when you are private.
