at least a full cycle, but read the info that came with your pills to be sure, some may be different than the ones I have experience with.

It used to be one month. All pills will now protect you within 3 days and they tell you 7 days just to be sure. However, I would wait the full month just to be on the safe side. Using a condom for a month seems like a small price to pay to avoid pregnancy. However, if you're not married I would recommend always using the condom. Unless you have seen test results, you don't know that the person is disease free. Also pills are only 99.9% effective. If you aren't willing to have this man in your life forever, don't risk a pregnancy.

1. if you read the info on the pill carefully, the pill is 99.9% effective. there is still that .1% chance of becoming pregnant
2. wait a month before you stop using condoms...
3. keep condoms around just in case you forget a pill
4. if you forget 2 doses of the pill, you have a higher risk of getting pregnant
5. don't have sex

If you don't want to get pregnant, stop having sex. Abstinence is the way to go. Condoms and birth control pills don't always work.

Unless this man is your husband the answer to that question is NEVER. Not only will condoms prevent unwanted pregnancy but they also will protect against some STD's. It would be wise to always use a condom just encase. Example my husbands employer a healthcare provider only offers generic birthcontrol and had 3 female employee become pregnant last year because of ineffective pills... Good luck to you

Your first pack of pills doesn't protect you from pregnancy. The second pack should, but use condoms for the first month just to be sure you don't get pregnant.

Your doctor should've told you that...but typically it's 1 month (or when you've taken a full pack and had your next period).

Read the literature that came with your pills. Info should be in there.

it depends on the pill brand you use. it's all written in the insert that came with your pill. mine said that only one week. others may say one month. i believe what the manufacturer said. because every pill composition is different. and manufacturer sure done lots of testing before they distribute the pill. right?

it takes 30 days to get into your system and start working properly. a lot of my friends wait a week or two past that just to be safe and to make sure it's in there good. (they didn't want to take any chances!) also you have to make sure you take it at the same time everyday for it to work properly. a friend of mine sets her cell phone to go off everyday at the same time to remind her to take her pill.
