Text of ancient Greece and Rome wrote about four ages of
man - golden age, silver age, bronze age and iron age.
The classification was according to superiority of
metals. The ancient Hindu texts wrote about Krita Yuga,
Treta Yuga, Dwapara Yuga, and Kali Yuga. Krita Yuga was
the age of learning - the Vedas were written during that
time. Treta Yuga was the age of great physical actions,
like Rama making war with Ravana. Dwapara Yuga was the
age of romance, like the romantic episodes of Krishna.
In Sanskrit, Kala Ratri means darkest period of night.
The name Kali Yuga means age of deep darkness. This
cycle also corresponds to the cycle of day - morning
time, afternoon time, early night time and time of deep
darkness. It is known to many teachers that students are
at their best for learning during morning time. For
engineering students, the afternoon time is the best for
workshop practicals and engines lab practicals.

It is the experience of most of us that early night time
is most suitable for reading books or seeing movies on
romantic episodes.
It is a cycle which repeats. No doomsday. What we are
observing in the present day world are characteristic
features of Age of Darkness. Compared to the past
thousand years, the mind of present generation is more
inclined towards knowledge. This is a clear indication
for 'dawn' in the cycle. Many Hindu astrologers
predicted about the beginning of a new era in about two
decades from now. One visioner wrote:
"(In India), good character and culture will be inculcated
in all spheres of life. .... Due to the scientific
progress achieved by India and her increased amity with
America, Indian society will shed its degenerate culture
and become progressive. By 2020, Indian society would have
significantly expanded its thinking. .... Spiritual books,
originating from India, will become extremely popular and
command a global audience.

From 2010, winds of spiritualism will blow across the
entire world, awakening more and more people in its
wake. Where limits of (modern) science end,
spiritualism begins. .... Along with scientific
progress, intellectuals will start recognizing the
importance of spiritualism. .... From 2050, a new era
will begin...."
