My cycle was due over the weekend- didn't get it. I tested yesteday (Monday) around 4:00- came back negative. I've been nauseated, peeing constantly, and I actually had to wear a pair of maternity pants when my husband and I went out tonight- I cannot wait to find out if it's pregnancy. I'd like to get other's opinions and experiences. Thanks.

I'm not wearing maternity pants because I've tricked myself into thinking I'm showing yet- it's simply because clothes have been a little tight lately and I've felt bloated. I'm not that excited yet...

Usually if your period is due, a pregnancy test will come up positive if you are pregnant, as by then there is more than enough HGC in the body. I did mine before my period was even due and they came up positive ( very faint, but definately there!)
If you still haven't got your period in a few days I would re-test just in case. Good luck to you!

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) pregnancy tests or home pregnancy tests determine pregnancy through the detection of the hormone Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG) in a woman's urine. Doctors recommend that you wait until you have missed a period to take a home pregnancy test. If you can not wait that long to find out and you know the day you may have conceived, then the earliest you can take a test would be 14 days from possible conception. Home tests are usually 97% accurate when all instructions are followed correctly and the results are read on time. Some kits come with two tests so that in case you have made a mistake, you may take the home pregnancy tests gain. Learn more about the accuracy of home pregnancy tests in another relevant article.
I took a pregnancy test two days after my period was due, and it was very obvious I was pregnant. I also had symptoms of enlarged breasts as well as just feeling uncomfortable. Even after I knew I was pregnant, I still took a test at the doctor's office. I agree with others here and think you may want to test again in the morning with your first urine. Good luck.

False negatives are not rare. Everyone is different so some women are able to tell faster than others, b/c everyone's HCG increases at different rates in early pregnancy. You should try taking an early results test (like First Response) with first morning urine. If that is negative but you have no period then you might want to visit the dr, b/c they can do a blood test for pregnancy and if you're not he/she can tell you what is keeping your period away so that you can make sure everything is fine there. Best Wishes!

It is common for home pregnancy tests to be incorrect. That's why people do at least 2 of them to make sure. Since that was Monday, doing another 2 pregnancy tests tomorrow would be good. Make sure to do it first thing in the AM before you drink anything. Read the directions and follow them completely.

It sounds like you tested too early.
While you've been nausated and peeing constantly, don't get ahead of yourself. Why would you have to wear maternity pants this early--you wouldn't begin to show for another few months. Are you bloated?
False negatives are more common than false positives.

They are about 98% accurate if taken after your period was due. Perhaps your cycle is just off this month.
Being 2 days past your missed period would not result in bloating so bad you need maternity pants. Usually it would just be your period that does that.. trust me, I've been wearing them all week.

It's very common... the best thing to do is to see a doctor and take a pregnancy test. Home tests are inaccurate a lot of the time. Sometimes you need to wait at least a month b4 one of those test will detect your pregnancy.

be sure to use your early morning urine...it is very possible that it was wrong sometimes the hcg in your urine isnt strong enough...I have heard of women that are 9 months pregnant and the home tests still read negative
Best of luck!!!!
